Scholastic Philosophy

At SVIS, we believe in the holistic development of every child through an organic and inclusive approach to learning. Our objective is to equip learners with the essential tools to master multidisciplinary systems, enabling them to harmonise knowledge and skills and confidently engage with the dynamic world around them.

Beyond regular instruction, educators serve as mentors and facilitators, supporting learners in navigating both physical and emotional development. This nurturing process helps shape confident, self-reliant individuals who are capable of adapting and remaining relevant in any given situation.

Student Centric Learning

SVIS believes in fostering lifelong learners. The school focuses on understanding each student’s inclination towards academics and then systematically nurturing their skills and knowledge for continuous improvement. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, SVIS adopts a holistic approach to education, empowering students to develop critical thinking, creativity, and experiential learning skills.

Learners are given the freedom to explore, question, and discuss concepts in the classroom. This approach extends learning beyond the classroom, fostering curiosity and strengthening critical-thinking skills.

Students from Classes I to XII engage in concept-based, real-life projects that integrate multidisciplinary and art-integrated learning, enabling them to apply knowledge in practical contexts.

Guided by the philosophy “Hear and forget, see and remember, do and understand,” learners are provided opportunities to learn through role-play, public speaking, laboratory work, hands-on practical, robotics, model making, and real-world applications, followed by reflection and feedback.

Students learn through sharing ideas, peer teaching, group discussions, and teamwork, which enhances communication skills and mutual learning.

Learners are exposed to real-life situations and guided to analyse problems and arrive at solutions, making learning practical, relevant, and engaging.

Students are encouraged to take ownership of their learning by leading peer discussions, presentations, and concept explanations, promoting deeper understanding and confidence.

Learners regularly reflect on what and how they have learned through journals, portfolios, discussions, and co-scholastic activities, fostering self-awareness and metacognitive skills.

Thus, at SVIS, learners are empowered to explore, innovate, and make a meaningful impact on the world. The school nurtures confident problem-solvers and future-ready innovators.

Meet our Teachers

Meet the Educators Who Shape Tomorrow

Educators are the backbone of the school, nurturing students to acquire knowledge and skills that help them realise their potential and thrive in a dynamic world. To meet the challenges of the present educational landscape, SVIS entrusts students’ futures to well-qualified, knowledgeable, and experienced teachers.
Guided by the philosophy of “one person, many roles,” educators at SVIS perform multifaceted responsibilities—as mentors, instructors, tutors, guides, and facilitators—playing a vital role in the holistic growth of students. In response to the profound changes in educational policies and practices, teachers continuously embrace innovative strategies and professional development opportunities to enhance their expertise and effectively prepare students for the future.

Library

Inspiring Minds Through Reading

“Reading makes a full man.” — Francis Bacon
At SVIS, reading is actively encouraged not only for pleasure but also to equip students with essential academic and life skills. The SVIS library is innovatively designed to accommodate a large number of students and serves as a vibrant hub of learning. It offers a rich and diverse collection of resources, including a wide range of books, digital content, e-books, and magazines relevant to contemporary needs.
The library houses curriculum-based reference materials, textbooks for senior classes, the latest journals, magazines related to sports, general knowledge, competitive examinations, and political affairs, as well as editions of all leading newspapers. To nurture a strong reading culture, special reading habits are inculcated through the introduction of the DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) period in the regular timetable.
The library plays a pivotal role in providing students with opportunities to explore, research, and discover knowledge, thereby fostering curiosity and transforming them into passionate, lifelong learners.

Learning Student Support

Nurturing Learning, Supporting Growth

Empowering Every Learner

Guided by the philosophy, “The capacity to learn is a gift; the ability to learn is a skill; the willingness to learn is a choice,” SVIS ensures that every learner is motivated to embrace learning and engage meaningfully with each lesson, shaping themselves for a better future.
The school takes extra care to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that addresses the individual needs of every student. Learners are provided with a happy atmosphere and personalised attention, fostering a positive learning aura. When a student faces challenges in achieving the expected goals, teachers adopt a range of alternative methodologies to ensure the child feels secure, supported.

Academic Support to the students

To ensure effective learning at SVIS, the following strategies are implemented:
• Students are organised into small, well-balanced groups to promote healthy interaction and collaborative learning.
• Remedial classes are conducted to address individual learning needs and to strengthen students’ skills.
• Preparatory classes are organised on campus during the evening and night to reinforce learning.
• Additional revision classes are conducted prior to examinations for all classes to enhance academic preparedness.
• Board exam–appearing classes are grouped according to proficiency levels, with focused and personalised guidance provided to help each learner achieve clearly defined academic goals.
